Forging works the metal under compressive force and can align grain flow for demanding loads. Casting fills a mold and supports complex geometry with less material removal.
Strength is only one variable
The decision also depends on alloy availability, tooling, annual volume, wall thickness, internal geometry, machining allowance, inspection, and lead time. Use the part's actual load case and production forecast rather than a universal process ranking.
